A dentist before Bharuch had many
Dr. Rajendra T. Gandhi completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at Government Dental College & Hospital, Ahmedabad in 1976, followed by a nine-month house job at Civil Hospital, Surat. He then served as a Dental Surgeon at Civil Hospital, Bharuch for approximately three years — years spent seeing a very wide range of patients in a public setting, which shaped how he practises to this day.

He established his own private practice in Bharuch on 26 April 1981. In April 1989 the clinic moved to Daudi Shopping, where Gandhi Dental Clinic still stands. What began as a single chair became, over four decades, a practice that has treated three generations of the same families.
Building the profession locally
In 2009 he became Founder President of the Indian Dental Association, Bharuch-Ankleshwar Branch — an effort to give the district's dentists a shared professional home. He remains actively associated with Gandhi Dental Clinic.
